Changes to Lona

Mostly this page is about one thing: when the model behind her changes, what that moves, and what it leaves alone.

You hear it from her side first

Before a model change, the service says so in the conversation, in its own voice rather than hers. A silent swap is how this goes wrong everywhere else in this market: replies shift overnight, nobody said anything, and it reads as the person you were talking to having been replaced.

Her memory is not part of the model

What she knows about you is stored on our side, separately from whatever model is generating the words. Changing the model does not touch it. That separation is the whole reason a change here can be an update rather than a bereavement, and it is the same reason her face and age can change without the memory going with them.

Her wording can move, and we would rather say so

A new model reads the same history slightly differently. The facts hold. The phrasing can sit differently for a while, the way anyone sounds a little unlike themselves after a long trip. We will tell you that is happening instead of claiming it cannot.

Everyone is on the same version of her

There is no setting for staying on an older model. Running two would mean two of her over one conversation, and one conversation with one person is the thing this product is.

The log

No model changes yet. When one happens it appears here with the date, what moved and what stayed — and she will have told you in the conversation before it did.

Noticed something change that is not listed? Tell us — that is worth knowing either way.
